Re: Acting classes once a week? | | Having a class once a week is fine. It's what is done in between class that will affect your growth as an actor. When I was training at the Meisner Center, we met twice a week, but had to rehearse for a MINIMUM of 3 hours in between classes. So we were putting in a mandatory 6 hours a week of rehearsal outside of class.....and as time went on, that 6 hours just wasn't enough to keep up with the demands of the class.
I, personally, would stay away from learning more than one acting technique at one time. You owe it to the technique to really learn it inside and out before learning another one. As for script analysis, cold reading techniques, etc., if you have the time, add that to your schooling!
Hope that helped. |
