Re: IMDB who else? | | Yes, I've had plenty of trouble getting copies of my work. I've even had problems (currently as well) getting paid for work I've done on low budget stuff. It's so angering, because you're pretty much doing THEM a favor by doing the project. You are working for way less than scale, or for free so you can get copy (which is always promised), you go above and beyond, most times providing your own wardrobe, taking time off from a day job that actually pays you money. Side note: sometimes us actors tend to think that everyone else is so IMPORTANT and that we are just lucky to be cast in any project....which is SOO not true! We actors work our asses off, paying tons of money for training, headshots, marketting, etc. We make all kinds of sacrifices in order to pursue this job. When we go into an audition, and when we are on set, we are COLLABORATORS and we are helping THEM get a vision off the ground. They OWE us copy AT THE VERY LEAST!
Sorry to go off on a rant. I'm not trying to be egoccentric, saying that we are so great and they are lucky to have us on their project. I'm saying that these people that offer little to no pay, but offer copy, should damn well provide that copy. Most times it's the only reason an actor takes the job (to get footage for their reel) It's the LEAST they could do. Can you tell this is a bone of contention for me?
It's so frustrating. I totally feel your pain! |
