I know some people who would suggest you "picture the person who you are kissing as your lover" because it might instigate a more natural feeling when you kiss. However, I don't think that technique is really needed. Kissing, after all, is a physical act and can be easily mastered through practice, either on an object or in front of a mirror. I think you should mainly focus on what happens before, between and after the kissing as those elements are what make the kiss special, not the act itself.
