I posted it in the actors thread already, but my vote would go to Helena Bonham Carter (Fight Club, Wings of the Dove, Big Fish.) But as I said, it's because she's been in a string of supporting roles rather than leads, so she hasn't had her chance to shine. At least not in the USA.
I also think Mischa Barton is extremely underrated. Most people just associate her with the OC, where she gets stuck with poorly written lines and situations where she can't express all of what she has to offer. Many people aren't aware of the fact that she played a very complex character in the soap opera, Once and Again, and was the lead in a string of critically acclaimed independent movies as a child and young teen such as Lawn Dogs, Tart, and Lost and Delirious. She also pulled off the vomiting ghost girl in the Sixth Sense quite well. I think she has great things ahead of her. |
